The long waiting for the 1.9 is finally over. This night the servers were down for maintenance, and in the morning everything became live. Most of you are probably interested what's new in 1.9, so here is a quick summary of the features:

Stigma

Previously, if you went to a Stigma Tuner, you could find one basic Stigma per Class – for a total of 8. If that wasn’t the one you were looking for, you either had to resort to the Trade Broker and user-set prices or purchase one using your AP (Abyss Points) at the Abyss Stigma Contributor. Now, Stigma Tuners offer a large variety of Stigmas for each class - roughly 48 per class. Prices start out at around 400,000 for a level 20 Stigma and go up to 3.5million kinah for a level 50 Stigma. Tuners can be found in the Capitol Cities of Sanctum and Pandaemonium near the Stigma Master and Skill Trainers.

New Level 48 Stigmas have emerged for each class and are available at any Abyss Stigma Contributor. These can be found in both the capitol cities and the main landings in the Abyss (Primum and Teminon). The new stigmas cost 26,500 AP.

Skills

In 1.9, all Classes have been given a Remove Shock I skill at level 40 and then a subsequent chain skill at level 48. The skills can be purchased from your Skill Trainer in the Capitol City and will be extremely useful tools in PvP and hunting.

Floating Quickbar

You can now enable two additional floating Quickbars that can be moved and arranged to your liking. The new Quickbar can be turned on and off from your Options menu, where you can set the Hotkeys as well. Simply unlock your Quickbar and you can move and change the style of the Quickbar. When you’re done, lock your Quickbar again to keep it in place and hide empty slots.

Daily Quests

Daily Quests have been added and begin at level 30. When you reach levels 30 and 40, you will automatically receive an introduction Quest leading you to the recruitment officer for each group. Join a group to participate in daily quests and receive rewards. For completion of these quests you will receive some EXP, a bundled-item, and a token that can then be exchanged for items at various vendors. Explore your options and figure out what works best to get to your desired reward. The second group, which opens for enrollment at level 40, is located in the Abyss and offers rewards such as: Titles with PvP options, Abyss Relics, and Silver Medals.

New Temples

New Temples and have been added to the Capitol Cities of Sanctum and Pandaemonium. To enter a Temple, use the golden Teleport Statue that has been added.

  • Elyos Temple Quest: Perikles’s Insight
  • Asmodian Temple Quest: Veldina’s Call

Currently there are not many quests you can do in the Temple, but it is nice to take a look around in advance. Later, there are important Campaigns and Quests planned for this area.

Fashion

Several new hats and costumes have been introduced and are available in the Capitol Cities. The hats can be found at the Divine Accessories Vendor and the costumes are offered by the new Haute Couture Sales Associates. While these level 51 Hats will not be wearable until after the 2.0 Update, this will give you time to pick one and save up, since they cost around 1.8 million kinah. Two new costumes have been added for each race with no level restriction. The price of the new costumes may take your breath away though, as they are going for roughly 14 million kinah.
Keep in mind that while a costume is only one item, the look is replacing that of your chest piece, pants, gloves, shoes, and pauldrons. Looking at it that way makes the pricing seem a little less steep.

Enchanting and Socketing

You can now enchant weapons that are Heroic class or higher to +15. Of course, being higher in level, you’ll need a good bit of luck and kinah to accomplish it. To help make this task more achievable, Enchant Assisting Materials (Supplements) have been introduced in the 1.9 update. Supplements increase the success rate of enchanting and socketing and can be purchased from a Potion Supplies or Remodeled Items Vendor. If you attempt to enchant an item or socket a manastone while Supplements are in your Inventory, a Supplements window will appear.

Armfusion

You can now combine two-handed weapons to transfer some of the attributes of one item to another. Greatswords, polearms, orbs, spellbooks, staffs, and bows are all two-handed weapons that can now be combined. Combining weapons transfers some of the Secondary weapon’s stats, options, and all manastone slots to the Primary weapon. The Secondary weapon is destroyed in the combining process and must be of equal or lower level than the Primary weapon. The combining process can also be undone, restoring the primary weapon to its original state.

Facts about Armsfusion and Armsbreaking:

  • Both Primary and Secondary must be the same weapon type
  • After fusion, weapons cannot be sold, traded, or stored
  • The Secondary weapon must be equal or lower level than the Primary
  • The Secondary weapon is destroyed and lost forever
  • The fused weapon can be broken to recover the Primary weapon to its original state. This is called Armsbreaking.

What carries over?

  • 10% of the Attack (Melee or Magic) value of the Secondary weapon
  • Any stat bonus from the secondary weapon that the primary does not have already
  • Any stat bonus from the Secondary weapon that is better than what the primary already has
  • Manastone sockets from BOTH weapons
  • Socketed Manastones from BOTH weapons
  • The Godstone from the Primary weapon is kept. If the Secondary weapon has a Godstone it will be destroyed
  • Maintains the appearance of the Primary Weapon

Visit an Armsfusion Officer in the Capitol Cities to begin.

New Scrolls

New Scrolls that benefit the magic classes have been added in 1.9. These new scrolls can improve your Casting Speed or Crit Hit chance for a period of time and can be very useful in hunting and PvP situations.

Gathering and Dismantling

Extract Vitality is now known as Essencetapping and Extract Aether is now known as Aethertapping. There have also been several other changes worth noting.

When your skill level reaches 399 and you are level 50, you can visit the Essencetapping or Aethertapping Master to complete a Quest, pay a fee, and become an Expert. Once you become an Expert your skill level will be raised to the new maximum of 499.

A dismantling system was added, which allows for a high-grade resource to be broken down in to 3 lesser resources with a simple double-click. Items that can be dismantled are marked as Bundled Items.

Morphing and Limited Sales Items

Up until now, Morphing could only produce common items. With 1.9, there are new Morphing Recipes available for higher-grade items, such as Pure Platinum Ore.

  • Morph Methods are similar to Designs or Recipes and must be acquired and learned.
  • They are only available at the various Fortress Quartermasters in the Abyss.
  • Your faction must control a Fortress to purchase Morph Methods from a Quartermaster.
  • Each Quartermaster carries different Morph Methods.

Certain new items have been introduced that can only be purchased in limited amounts. After items are sold out they will be marked in red and will not be available again for a period of time.

Grouping with Ease

Finding a Group just got a lot easier with the 1.9 Update. Use the new Find Group window (Shift + V) to Recruit and Seek out Group and Alliance members. Chat can still be used, as before, but now a notice will automatically be listed in the Find Group window.

Dungeons

After 1.9 there are no pre-requisite quest requirements in order to gain entry in to an Instance. There is still a level requirement associated with Instances. New items have been added, drop rates have been increased, and new drops have been added for some.

Cheaper Flights

Flight costs have been reduced to help lessen your kinah burdens. Here are some examples, but keep in mind that this will vary depending on the influence ratio.

Item Repurchase

Have you ever accidentally sold an item? All Vendors now have a Repurchase tab, which allows you to buy a sold item back. Sold items are no longer available for repurchase after you log out or are disconnected.

Soul Healing

The cost of Soul Healing has been reduced considerably, although the prices will still vary depending on location and your level.
